Unlike 7×7, the 8×8 grid has perfect bilateral symmetry. If you solve the left half, the right half often follows similar patterns. Use this to cross-check your placements.
Numbers above 32 in an 8×8 grid are extremely constrained. A "48" must be 6×8 (covering most of the grid). A "56" must be 7×8. These large numbers effectively partition the grid into regions before you place anything else.
